  • Mary Waldron heads off to the T20 Cricket World Cup

Tomorrow Elite Healthcare’s very own Mary Waldron and the Irish women’s cricket team will leave for their T20 World Cup campaign in Bangladesh. After qualifying last summer in Dublin, it is now time to show off their hard work on a World stage. Mary has been promoted to Vice- Captain and the team have had 7 months gym, fitness and skill sessions with newly appointed coach Trent Johnston.

Mary has been working in Elite Healthcare for over 5 years as a Service Coordinator and has extensive knowledge in the area of Sales, Installation & Service of Medical Devices. She has worked hard to juggle her career both on and off the field while giving full attention to both roles.

Football, hockey and now cricket are some of the sports Mary has played at a very competitive level. Mary started playing cricket for Pembroke 8 years ago and from there progressed onto the Irish women's cricket team. She now has 53 Irish Senior caps and picked up her 1st cap against New Zealand in Kibworth. 3 years ago Mary moved club and has been a huge part in Malahide Cricket Club as a wicket keeper - right hand batter.

The team at Elite Healthcare are delighted to have been a part of Mary's journey and preparations for the World Cup. Helping Irish athletes to work while fulfilling their international duties is very important. More companies should get involved and see how much work the athletes put in, it's a credit to their determination and drive to succeed!

The Irish women's cricket team will come up against the world’s best cricketers, with 2 warm up games and 4 games in the groups stages over the 3 weeks.

Elite Healthcare would like to wish Mary and her team good luck in Bangladesh! Both the Irish men's and women's team will be competing at this World Cup for the first time and we wish the teams and background staff well!
